Job summary

University Health Associates in Wheeling, WV seeks an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to deliver patient‑centered neurology care in the ambulatory setting. The APP coordinates with neurology faculty, physicians, and staff to develop comprehensive plans of care and directs ongoing management of neurology patients.

The role includes performing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, teaching residents and students, and ensuring compliance with state licensing and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with ALS training at department discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and coordinated care for neurology outpatients in ambulatory settings.
• Completes assessments, pre-procedure evaluations and follow-up in ambulatory neurology.
• Develops comprehensive plans of care and coordinates with neurology faculty and staff.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests per guidelines and scope of practice.
• Educates residents, students, and staff; contributes to teaching and program development.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
