Job summary

UHA University Health Associates in Wheeling, WV seeks an Advanced Practice Professional to coordinate and deliver ambulatory neurology care. The APP partners with neurology physicians and other clinicians to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients within scope of practice and specialty area.

The role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, teaching residents and students, and contributing to continuous improvement of patient outcomes in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for neurology patients in the ambulatory setting.
• Completes acute assessments, pre-procedure evaluations and surgical evaluations.
• Develops comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with neurology faculty and other clinicians.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following clinical guidelines.
• Coordinates services and tests prior to outpatient follow-up appointments.
