Stony Brook University in New York seeks faculty in the Division of Epilepsy within the Neurology department to join a growing academic group. The role includes inpatient EMU coverage, supervision of residents and APPs, and expanding outpatient epilepsy services.
Ideal candidates will have an MD/DO, NY licensure eligibility, and board certification or eligibility in Neurology, with fellowship training in Epilepsy or Neurophysiology.
The Department of Neurology in the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University is undergoing a period of significant growth. We are seeking faculty candidates to join our outstanding group of dedicated academic neurologists in the Division of Epilepsy. Stony Brook is a 624‑bed tertiary care facility with a catchment area of 1.5 M residents, Level IV adult and pediatric Epilepsy Center, 20‑bed Neurological Critical Care Unit (NCCU), and Level I Trauma Center in Suffolk County. Our faculty leads several nationally recognized, highly regarded subspecialty centers in Neuromuscular Medicine, Neuroimmunology, Epilepsy, and Movement Disorders in the outpatient setting. Ancillary services include MRI/PET, FMRI capabilities, EEG, EMG/NCV, and infusion therapy.
This represents an exciting opportunity for a neurologist interested in building an outpatient practice at the region's premier academic medical center. Faculty can also take advantage of an exceptional retirement plan offered through the SUNY403(b) and NYS Deferred Compensation Plans.
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Eligibility for New York State licensure. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology. Completion of an accredited Neurology Epilepsy fellowship or Neurophysiology fellowship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates will have a background in Epilepsy surgery workup and monitoring.
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
