Wayne Memorial Hospital, located in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, is a non-profit community hospital providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient care. Recognized as a Certified Primary Stroke Center, the hospital offers advanced services, including a state-of-the-art Heart & Vascular Center with a cardiac catheterization laboratory. With 90 acute-care beds and specialized rehabilitation services, it serves over 100,000 residents in Wayne, Pike, Lackawanna, Susquehanna, and Luzerne Counties. This is a full-time, on-site role for Neurologist based in Honesdale, PA providing non-surgical specialty care for patients with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. This role involves diagnosing and managing neurological conditions through comprehensive assessments, diagnostic testing, and collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Additional duties may include participation in community outreach and healthcare education initiatives.

The position primarily focuses on outpatient care with shared responsibility of inpatient rounding and call.

Key Responsibilities

• Expertise in the treatment of neurological conditions and evaluations, including diagnosis, treatment evaluations and assessments.
• Order, interpret, and monitor EEGs, laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and developing treatment plans.
• Proficiency in medical documentation and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Collaborate closely with primary care physicians and multidisciplinary team members, including nurses, medical assistants, and social workers, to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery.
