Job summary

HealthYes Staffing Network is conducting a confidential search for a fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular Surgeon to join an established neuroscience program in Southeast Alabama.

The candidate must complete Neurology residency followed by Neuroendovascular Surgery or Interventional Neurology fellowship training and be eligible for Alabama medical licensure. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified physicians.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency.
  • Fellowship training in Neuroendovascular Surgery or Interventional Neurology or equivalent.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Neurology preferred.
  • Vascular Neurology training or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cerebral angiography.
  • Perform mechanical thrombectomy for eligible acute-stroke patients.
  • Provide endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations.
  • Perform embolization, angioplasty, and stenting within privileges.
  • Evaluate patients through the neurovascular clinic.
  • Provide inpatient neurovascular consultations.
  • Participate in the stroke center’s emergency coverage schedule.
  • Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, radiology and hospitalists.

Job description

HealthYes Staffing Network is conducting a confidential search for a fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular Surgeon to join an established neuroscience program at a regional referral center in Southeast Alabama.

This position is specifically for a physician who completed a Neurology residency followed by Neuroendovascular Surgery or Interventional Neurology fellowship training. Physicians trained through Neurosurgery or Diagnostic Radiology residency pathways will not be considered for this opening.

Physicians completing the required fellowship training in 2027 are encouraged to apply. Visa support is available for qualified candidates.

Clinical Scope

The Neuroendovascular Surgeon will diagnose and treat complex cerebrovascular conditions using minimally invasive endovascular techniques. The clinical scope may include:

  • Acute ischemic stroke
  • Large-vessel occlusion
  • Subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Cerebral aneurysms
  • Cerebral and spinal arteriovenous malformations
  • Cerebral venous thrombosis
  • Extracranial carotid and vertebral artery stenosis
  • Intracranial arterial stenosis
  • Other complex neurovascular conditions
Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic cerebral angiography
  • Perform mechanical thrombectomy for eligible acute-stroke patients
  • Provide endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations
  • Perform embolization, angioplasty, and stenting procedures according to training and privileges
  • Evaluate patients through the neurovascular clinic
  • Provide inpatient neurovascular consultations
  • Participate in the Comprehensive Stroke Center’s emergency coverage schedule
  • Collaborate with vascular neurologists, neurosurgeons, neurohospitalists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and interventional radiologists
  • Participate in stroke-program development and clinical quality initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Support evidence-based protocols for cerebrovascular emergencies

Required Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency
  • Completed or actively completing fellowship training in Neuroendovascular Surgery, Interventional Neurology, or an equivalent neurointerventional pathway
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurology
  • Vascular Neurology training or certification preferred
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Alabama medical license
  • Eligible for hospital medical-staff appointment and neuroendovascular privileges
  • Physicians completing fellowship in 2027 are encouraged to apply
Important:

This search is limited to Neurology residency-trained physicians. Neurosurgery residency-trained and Radiology residency-trained candidates are not eligible for this particular opening.

Final compensation will depend on training, experience, procedural capabilities, call responsibilities, and the completed employment agreement.
