Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an experienced neurodiagnostic professional to perform routine and complex testing across EEG, ambulatory EEG, EMG/NVC, and related procedures. The role includes leading training for new staff and participating in quality-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications include at least 2 years in Neurodiagnostics, credentialing within one year (ABRET R EEG T or AAET R.NCS.T), and CPR certification. HIPAA compliance and background clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Must become credentialed by ABRET for the R. EEG T or AAET for the R.NCS.T within one year.

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• HIPAA compliance as described in company policies

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical neurodiagnostic procedures including EEG, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hr ambulatory EEGs, EMG/NVC testing as ordered.
• Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition, detects malfunctions, reports needed repairs.
• Demonstrates leadership, technical and analytical skills for decision making.
• Participates in department projects, data collection, audits, quality improvements and continuing education.
• Guides new employees through an effective training curriculum.
• Completes all charges according to department guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic testing on all patients as ordered.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs clinical neurodiagnostic procedures including all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hr ambulatory EEG's, EMG/NVC testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electro neurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policies/procedures. (40%)
• Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition, detects instrument malfunction, makes minor adjustments or reports need for major repairs. (20%)
• Demonstrates leadership, technical, and analytical skills for decision making. (15%)
• Participates in department projects, initiatives, data collection, audits, quality improvements, and continuing education. (15%)
• Guides new employees through an effective training curriculum to ensure successful integration and performance (5%)
• Completes all charges according to department guidelines. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Minimum 2 years neurodiagnostic experience in a hospital or physician's office

Preferred

• Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic program preferred.

Additional Employment Requirements:

• Must become credentialed by ABRET for the R. EEG T or the AAET for the R.NCS.T. within one year.
