Highmark Health's Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Neurodiagnostic professional to perform routine and complex testing as ordered, including EEGs and EMG/NVC, in accordance with ASE T guidelines and departmental procedures.

The role emphasizes equipment maintenance, adherence to policies, leadership in technical decisions, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Training new staff and completing department charges will be part of the duties.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic testing on all patients as ordered.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs clinical neurodiagnostic procedures including all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hr ambulatory EEG's, EMG/NVC testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electro neurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policies/procedures. (40%)
  • Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition, detects instrument malfunction, makes minor adjustments or reports need for major repairs. (20%)
  • Demonstrates leadership, technical, and analytical skills for decision making. (15%)
  • Participates in department projects, initiatives, data collection, audits, quality improvements, and continuing education. (15%)
  • Guides new employees through an effective training curriculum to ensure successful integration and performance (5%)
  • Completes all charges according to department guidelines. (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years neurodiagnostic experience in a hospital or physician's office
  • Preferred Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic program
Additional Employment Requirements
  • Must become credentialed by ABRET for the R. EEG T or the AAET for the R.NCS.T. within one year.
