Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a skilled technologist to assist nurses and physicians with diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures. You will operate lab and imaging equipment and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

Responsibilities include performing sheath removal, maintaining station supplies, and performing technical interrogation of implanted devices. ACLS/CPR and background checks required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• 1 year experience in general Radiology desired.
• ACLS and CPR certification within specified timeframe.

General Overview

Assists and supports the nurses and physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assists with electrophysiology procedures. Operates laboratory and imaging equipment used in the performance of electrophysiology studies. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and contacts proper support personnel. (60%)
• Performs sheath removal. (15%)
• May maintain the inventory and station management system for supplies. (10%)
• Performs technical interrogation of implanted devices (15%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• 1 year experience in general Radiology

Preferred

• One year experience in Electrophysiology or Cath Lab
• Radiography Certification and Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

Additional Employment Requirements

• ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
