Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist II to perform standard EEG procedures in outpatient or portable ER/ICU settings, under indirect supervision. You will apply 10-20 system electrodes, record with precision, and monitor auxiliary signals as needed.

Maintaining equipment and continuing education to advance clinical skills are essential in Hyde Park's Neurophysiology lab. Full-time, onsite position with dayshift availability.

Qualifications

• END/ASET EEG course completion required.
• Must pass ABRET competencies for national board certification.
• CPR (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• ABRET R.EEG.T credentials within two years of hire.
• Proficient with International 10-20 System.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and document medical history according to guidelines.
• Obtain standard or extended EEG recordings in outpatient or portable settings.
• Identify artifacts and troubleshoot to improve signal quality.
• Monitor EKG/EMG/EOG/respirations as indicated and perform activations.
• Create montages and adjust equipment settings for EEG recordings under supervision.
• Summarize recordings to inform physician of abnormalities observed.
• Maintain clean, functional equipment and assist with electrode placement.
