Position Summary

This is a PRN EEG Technician position at IUHMG West. Candidates will provide on‑call, after‑hours, and holiday coverage as needed in inpatient and clinical settings.

Job Description

Provides neurophysiological testing and monitoring in clinical settings. Accurately applies electrodes to patients, records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data used in the diagnosis of brain disorders, and documents unusual wave characteristics shown on tracings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 0–3 years of experience required.
• May require ABRET registry in EEG, EP or CNIM within 24 months of hire or eligibility per the ABRET pathway guide based on department requirements.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Must meet all laboratory competency requirements for held Registry.
• Initiative toward application of tests and ability to modify established protocols to fit patient needs.
• Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and ability to concentrate for extended periods under stressful conditions.
• Ability to recognize neurological conditions and communicate those conditions to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
