Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston seeks a Neurodiagnostic Tech to perform EEGs and support neurodiagnostic testing. You will prepare patients, monitor brain activity, and ensure data quality for physician review.

Responsibilities include conducting standard/complex EEGs, maintaining equipment, and assisting with reports and patient transport. Strong technical skills and CPR are required; Registered EEG Technologist preferred on hire.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic (EEG) program or on-the-job training.
  • 5 years of experience with 2 Licensure/Certifications or 6+ years with 1 Licensure/Certification.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR within 14 days.
  • Registered EEG Technologist upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate standard and complex EEG recordings at bedside and in laboratory for adolescents to elderly.
  • Attend in-services and adhere to hospital policies.
  • Maintain and clean EEG equipment and lab areas daily.
  • Assist with delivering reports and transporting patients as needed; perform related duties.
  • Support physician diagnoses and provide neurodiagnostic testing data.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Neurodiagnostic Tech, you\'ll perform specialized tests like EEGs, providing crucial data for diagnosing neurological conditions.

Every day you\'ll prepare patients, monitor neurological activity, manage equipment, and process data for physician review.

To be successful in this role, you need strong technical skills, neuroanatomy knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. Compassionate care, attention to detail, and effective communication are paramount for accurate diagnoses.

  • Perform accurate standard and complex EEG recordings at the bedside and in the laboratory on a routine, emergency and on‐call basis to adolescent, adult and elderly patients.
  • Attend all hospitals required in‑services, adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures, participate in hospital and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and laboratory areas on a daily basis.
  • Assist with delivering reports and transporting patients to and from the laboratory, as needed as well as any other job related duties as assigned.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, Workshops and conferences .
  • Assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and disorders of the brain and central nervous system through the provision of neurodiagnostic testing.

  • High School GED or
  • High School Graduate
  • Successful completion of an educational program for Neurodiagnostics (EEG) by an accredited program or on the job training
  • Five (5) years of experience with two Licensure and Certifications or
  • Six (6) or more years of experience with one Licensure and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
  • Registered EEG Technologist, upon hire

Pay Range
