The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II is board eligible to sit for the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc. (ABRET) and proven competent to obtain a credential in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.). The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II has an expected level of competence and is able to independently perform duties with limited supervision and responsibilities for electroencephalography, recognizes clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test result. Strong well developed communication skills are essential for this position. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II performs procedures according to ACNS guidelines. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II Registered EEG technologist has the knowledge base to interact with the patient and obtain a quality, interpretable EEG recording that will yield information about the brain's neuronal activity. The technologist possesses the appropriate knowledge level of diseases to correlate patient history and clinical symptoms to determine appropriate maneuvers to be performed during the EEG.
