Job summary

Northside Hospital in Georgia seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technician to perform EEG studies across neonate to geriatric patients under supervision, following ACNS guidelines. You will work 7AM-7PM with weekend and on-call requirements.

Responsibilities include configuring 10-20 system, consulting with physicians, documenting observations, and ensuring proper billing and safety. Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a Neurodiagnostics program and hold or obtain BLS; ABRET certification

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Neurodiagnostics program with nine months clinical EEG experience.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• Completion of a Neurodiagnostics program.
• One year supervised EEG experience with letter confirming experience.
• One (1) Year experience performing EEG studies.
• ABRET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consults with physicians and checks patient's history.
• Explains procedure to patient and places electrodes using the 10-20 system.
• Performs EEG per SOPs and ACNS guidelines.
• Provides detailed observations while recording EEG.
• Reports need for repairs for EEG equipment to supervisor.
• Enters charges into computer system for billing.
• Follows safety policies and reports malfunctions or injuries.

Responsibilities

Perform electroencephalogram on neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients of including EEG to assist in the diagnosis of various brain disorders with direct supervision.

• Consults with physicians and checks patient's history.
• Explains procedure to patient and places electrodes in appropriate cranial areas using the International 10-20 system.
• Performs EEG in accordance with standard operating procedures and in accordance with ACNS guidelines.
• Provide detailed observations while recording the EEG.
• Reports need for repairs for the EEG equipment to immediate supervisor.
• Enter charges into computer system to ensure proper billing of patients.
• Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to manager.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Enrolled in a Neurodiagnostics program and must provide letter confirming nine months clinical experience performing EEG studies.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

OR

Completion of a Neurodiagnostics program.

OR

One year supervised on-the-job training experience performing EEG studies in a clinical setting and must provide letter confirming the experience

OR

One (1) Year experience performing EEG studies.

PREFERRED

• Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET)
• Completion of a certified EEG program and one year performing EEG studies.
