UTMB Health in Galveston is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Tech I for the EMU on a full-time, 36-hour weekday schedule (Fri–Sun). The role involves performing EEG, IONM, LTM, EP, and NCV studies and preparing findings for interpretation.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in or recently graduated from a CAAHEP-end accredited END program and holds or is pursuing BLS certification. You will explain procedures to patients, apply 10/20 electrodes, monitor data, and help maintain patient safety.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a CAAHEP END program or equivalent.
• BLS certification.
• Basic electroneurodiagnostic procedures knowledge and safety awareness.

Aufgaben

• Performs electroneurodiagnostic studies according to written protocols.
• Explains procedures to patients and gathers medical history.
• Applies standard scalp electrodes using the 10/20 placement system.
• Adjusts test protocols based on patient history and study results, recognizing normal and abnormal variants.
• Identifies and corrects electrical and electronic malfunctions.
• Monitors and reviews raw study and video data during procedures.
• Prepares completed neurodiagnostic studies for interpretation.
• Completes the “Technician Impression” sheet, serving as a preliminary report.
• Edits and archives neurodiagnostic recordings.
• Competently performs routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Sets up and assists with specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Ensures patient safety, maintains privacy, and follows infection control protocols.
