Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technologist to perform standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab. Work may take place in a lab, clinic, at the patient bedside, or in the operating room.

The role requires graduation from an acceptable Neurophysiology program, and EEG/EP/NVC/INCM qualifications with registry eligibility. Some positions offer state-of-the-art monitoring and patient education responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an acceptable Neurophysiology program.
• Registry eligible in EEG, EP, CNIM, or NCV.
• No prior experience required if completion of an acceptable Neurophysiology program; or two years of relevant experience if a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic patient testing EEG, EMG, NCV, EP.
• Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics. Calibrates and maintains equipment.
• Reads neurodiagnostic tests.
• Takes patient histories. Provides instruction to patients and families regarding test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.
