Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks an EEG Technician for per diem day shifts (7:00am–3:30pm). You will prepare patients, apply electrodes, and perform routine and specialized EEG recordings under physician supervision.

You should have an Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic technology, ABRET certification, and a current BCLS certificate. Per diem schedule provides flexible hours in a hospital Neurodiagnostic setting.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience as an EEG technician required.
• Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic technology from an accredited program.
• ABRET certification required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Completion of EEG technician educational program preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EEG procedures and obtain medical history.
• Apply electrodes using the 10-20 system and monitor signals.
• Conduct routine, sleep-deprived, ICU, and intraoperative EEG recordings.
• Identify abnormalities such as seizure activity or unusual brain waves.
• Assist during long-term or emergency neurological monitoring.
• Maintain and calibrate EEG equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with physicians to support neurological diagnoses.
• Ensure patient safety during procedures and respond to seizures.
