Job summary

Confluence Health in Washington state is seeking an EEG/evoked potential technician to perform standard and complex EEG recordings in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will prepare patients, apply electrodes, calibrate equipment, and document findings in EPIC.

The role requires AMA EEG training or ABRET credentialing, a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and CPR certification, with potential Neurology department coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from AMA accredited EEG/evoked potential training or ABRET-approved pathway.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.
• ABRET registration or credentialing completed or in process.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and escorts them to exam room.
• Applies electrodes and checks performance at predetermined positions.
• Calibrates EEG equipment and adjusts as needed.
• Abstracts information from the patient’s chart and questions for details.
• Selects electrode configurations and performs recordings; notes artifacts and corrects.
• Maintains clean equipment and reports repairs as necessary.
• Initiates patient encounters in EPIC for billing and closure.
• Performs visual evoked response and nerve conduction studies when required.
• Assists with Neurology department coverage as needed.
• Maintains active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
