Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and plan treatment, orient patients and families, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve functional outcomes.

You will implement therapy plans, document care in the RICIS system, and participate in care conferences. Opportunities to supervise students and teach in departmental courses are available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois License to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current CPR or BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to develop professional skills by completing development plans and continuing education.
• Understanding of growth and development across age groups, including infants to elderly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and plan OT treatment including orienting patient and significant others to OT processes.
• Evaluate impairments and functional status to set patient-centered goals.
• Facilitate patient participation and collaborate with the care team to achieve outcomes.
• Implement treatment plans and adapt activities to meet goals.
• Document care using department protocols and RICIS.
• Participate in patient care conferences and educate patients and families.
• May supervise OT students and teach in Education and Training courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
