Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking an RN for the Neuro Tele Department in Fort Worth to deliver patient-centered care on a 7P-7A schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements. The unit emphasizes self-scheduling, teamwork, and education for career growth.

Candidates should have a Nursing Diploma or ASN, Texas RN licensure, BLS and ACLS within 90 days, CPI training within 90 days, and 1 year RN experience with Neuro/Tele preferred. NIHSS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or ASN in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
• BLS certification required prior to independent patient care.
• ACLS within 90 days required.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire required.
• One year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required.
• 2+ years of Med/Surg, Neuro or Tele RN experience in acute care setting including charge/preceptor skills preferred.
• NIHSS within 6 months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
