Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Neuro Surgery team in Nashua, NH. The role provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and care teams in an ambulatory setting.

You will document histories, vital signs, and meds, prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, and manage referrals and scheduling, all while ensuring top-notch patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 3 years Medical Assistant experience
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within established timeframe
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
• Basic computer proficiency and experience working with electronic medical records

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for provider visits
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
• Assist providers with examinations and office procedures
• Administer immunizations, medications, and injections within scope of practice
• Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection as appropriate
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment
• Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-up care
• Process referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refill requests
• Answer patient phone calls and portal messages while providing outstanding customer service
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care initiatives
• Participate in practice and organizational meetings, trainings, and process improvement activities
