Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Health in Nashua, NH seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in the Orthopedic Surgery Practice. You will work with surgeons, APNs, and nurses to support visits, pre/post-operative care, imaging coordination, casting, and patient education.

You will perform vital signs, document histories, assist with procedures, manage schedules, and ensure HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced specialty setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or 3 years MA experience.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer applications.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and exercise sound clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Support orthopedic surgeons and providers in in-person, telephone, and telehealth patient care.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, injections, and surgical consultations.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, histories, medications in the EMR.
  • Assist with casting, splinting, wound care, and dressing changes.
  • Coordinate imaging, referrals, and surgical scheduling.
  • Educate patients on surgical prep, recovery expectations, and rehab plans.
  • Assist with pre-visit planning and post-operative follow-up coordination.
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical equipment.
  • Ensure infection prevention, HIPAA, and confidentiality compliance.
  • Perform scheduling, patient communication, and medical records tasks.
