Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Neuro Surgery Specialty Unit seeks a professional clinical nurse to deliver evidence-based care to a diverse patient population. The role emphasizes advocacy, collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

As a full-time RN working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, you will coordinate diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation while upholding ANA standards and NMH values.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association.
• Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative).
• Oral, listening and written communication skills.
• Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations.
• Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patient-centered care and develop individualized nursing plans.
• Advance clinical expertise through continuing education and certification.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to advance patient plans of care.
• Educate patients and families and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure safety and quality by adhering to NMH standards and policies.
