Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MS1A Neuro Stroke unit on the Night Shift (7:00pm–7:30am).

The unit features tele-monitored patients and a 4:1 to 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio across 24 private beds. The RN provides direct and indirect patient care using professional nursing skills, with emphasis on education, documentation, interprofessional rounds, pain management, infection control, and coordinated handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs and learning barriers, incorporating education into daily care.
• Documents admission assessments, plans, interventions and medication use, and monitors outcomes.
• Utilizes information systems to enhance communication and document changes in patient condition.
• Communicates transfer of responsibility and pertinent information during rounds.
• Recognizes patient needs and provides abuse recognition and referral.
• Includes pain management and supportive care in the plan of care.
• Maintains infection control standards and a safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
