Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Neuro/Stroke Medicine Unit 2 East. The role involves providing patient care under the supervision of a nurse, supporting admissions and discharge, and monitoring patients’ conditions in a 21-bed med/surg/stroke unit.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS within 90 days of hire. Multiple CNA/NCMA/NCPCT pathways are accepted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Sentara Care Partner/CNA/NCMA/NCPCT certification options accepted.
• Alternative pathways include Navy Hospital Corps School or EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic or current clinical student status.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
