Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Neuro/Stroke Medicine Unit 2 East. This full-time day shift role focuses on providing direct nursing support, assisting with admissions and discharges, and monitoring patients under supervision on a 21-bed med/surg/stroke unit.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma and must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire. Experience and credentials in CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps programs are valued assets.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Eligible for Sentara Care Partner Certification Program or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps School or other clinical program involvement.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care under supervision of a professional nurse on the Neuro/Stroke unit.
Support admissions and discharge processes for patients.
Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
