Job summary

WVU Medicine’s WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks a Registered Nurse for 6E Neuro Stepdown/EMU Nights. The role delivers professional nursing care in an inpatient setting, following the nursing process, with emphasis on safety, patient education, and interprofessional collaboration.

Candidates must hold an active WV RN license (or multi-state eNLC), obtain BLS within 30 days, and have < 12 months of RN experience. BSN is preferred. Night shift hours apply, with CAPE-like ladder opportunities mentioned in policy.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of WV or multi-state eNLC.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Less than 12 months of experience as a registered nurse.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safety and continuity of care using documentation and handoff tools.
• Creates plan of care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnoses, intervention, and evaluation.
• Recognizes patient safety concerns and responds using appropriate resources.
• Provides education based on patient learning needs and applies ANA ethics to practice.
