Job summary

Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care for adults recovering from brain injury in a residential/rehab setting. The RN will assess, document, and coordinate care under the Medical Director, ensuring safety and adherence to Moody Neuro policies.

You will educate patients and staff, participate in team meetings, monitor vitals and meds, and supervise wound care and emergency procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Texas state license as an RN.
• Knowledge of TBI and related syndromes.
• Ability to work well with others in a clinical setting.
• Ability to stimulate and motivate people.
• Ability to document accurately and communicate results.
• Ability to perform emergency procedures including drills.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to transfer patients from wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Specified nursing services as needed by Moody Neuro patients.
• Regularly round on residents, assess behavior and functional status.
• Perform routine assessments, monitor risk levels, and document care.
• Educate patients on medications, brain injury prevention, and comorbidities.
• Attend team meetings and report patient status to the Medical Director.
• Ensure medical documentation meets licensing requirements.
• Oversee medication administration and wound care per policies.
• Supervise residential staff training and confidentiality adherence.
• Discharge duties and coordinate outside medical appointments.
