Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Houston, TX, is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a full-time, salaried position. The role focuses on providing specialized mental health counseling for social and emotional adjustment during rehabilitation from catastrophic injury or illness.

You will support individuals and families as they adapt to disability, offering therapeutic interventions, resource navigation, and coordination with the rehab team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy (LCSW, MSW, MFCC, or LPC).
• Current licensure/certification in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year in rehabilitation settings (e.g., TBI, spinal cord injury).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive evaluations of patients and families, setting measurable objectives with the rehab team.
• Identify community resources to support goals and address social/emotional responses.
• Provide direct social work intervention and counseling for coping with injury/illness.
• Regularly reassess treatment effectiveness and adjust goals accordingly.
• Document and communicate patient progress to the treatment team and families.
• Collaborate with medical providers regarding evaluation, progress, and discharge.
