Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Admissions Manager for our Houston branch. This on-site role focuses on managing referrals, pre-screenings, and pre-admission paperwork while coordinating with clinical leadership to assess service capability.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in rehab/healthcare settings, a healthcare degree, and strong payer knowledge to optimize benefits and payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or health care field; 5+ years admissions/medical insurance experience may substitute.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in rehabilitation or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of rehab operations and third‑party payer reimbursement.
• Proficient data entry and computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Excellent negotiation, organization, problem-solving, decision making and communication skills.
• Able to function with minimal supervision.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming referrals and determine client needs with the Clinical Management Director.
• Complete pre-screenings, prepare case proposals and pre-admission paperwork.
• Oversee field staff assisting with pre-screening processes.
• Review payer contracts and past agreements; liaise with third-party payers.
• Negotiate reimbursement levels and advise on coverage options.
• Maintain relationships with referral sources and payer case managers.
• Track referral satisfaction and report conversion metrics to management.
• Support compliance with company policies and HIPAA.
