Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the Neuro Progressive Care unit. Working under the RN, you will collect data, provide patient care, assist with mobility, and support discharge planning across the acute stay.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or CNA training, basic medical terminology knowledge, and strong communication and reliability. The role offers a day shift with hourly pay and opportunities to learn clinical skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent - required
• less than 1 year healthcare experience or CNA course completed - preferred
• experience as paramedic or emergency technician - preferred
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology (Medium proficiency)
• Honest, punctual, and adheres to high ethical standards

Responsibilities

• Collect vital signs, height/weight, and intake/output data.
• Report abnormal findings to the RN and care team.
• Assist with care planning and nursing report process.
• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, and nutrition support.
• Document all care in the patient record.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with mobility.
