Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Neuro Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies to improve mobility and function. The role supports a diverse patient population in an outpatient setting, with emphasis on functional outcomes and patient education.

The candidate will supervise PT Assistants, coordinate with the healthcare team, and contribute to discharge planning and home programs.

Qualifications

• Active license in practicing state.
• CPR certification required (AHA standards).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR renewal.
• Outpatient neuro experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents.

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM

No weekends * No holidays * No on-call

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
• Outpatient neuro experience, preferredLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
