Job summary

UPMC East in Monroeville, PA is hiring a Full-Time Patient Care Tech to support the 5 West Neuro Dept. This role includes direct patient care, ADLs, and collaboration with RNs on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, monitoring vitals, and documenting in the medical record. Requires HS diploma and completion of the UPMC PCT class; EMT/Paramedic is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in PT/OT/PA or related program with at least one clinical rotation preferred.
• Completion of UPMC PCT class and eRecord training required.
• EMT or Paramedic background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assists with nursing core duties and additional BU tasks as identified.
• Maintains communication with health care team and reports changes in patient status.
• Documents in medical records and completes assigned clerical tasks timely.
• Assists with safety and patient transport; supports department projects and quality initiatives.
