Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Clinician to work in a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive nursing care, patient assessments, and education. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, safety, and coordination with physicians and healthcare staff to support optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
• State Licensed Registered Nurse required
• Certification in Basic CPR required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Provide pre-attending care by performing comprehensive assessments and documenting findings.
• Perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, med administration, vital signs, and specimen handling.
• Interpret abnormal test results and take appropriate remedial action with documentation.
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Triage and prioritize incoming calls using clinical assessment skills.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per organizational protocols.
• Serve as a resource to staff and physicians for problem solving and decision making.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education and outreach as needed
