Job summary

The Neuroscience ICU Unit at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is a state-of-the-art, 28-bed unit providing neurocritical care. We are seeking a Unit Secretary to perform clerical tasks supporting patient and unit activities, records, and data.

This role requires working night shifts, 36–40 hours weekly, with responsibilities including handling medications and supplies, EMR and Microsoft Office tasks, and coordination with the Nurse Manager to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with EMR preferred.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle, transport, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
• Maintain patient and unit records and data.
• Coordinate with Nurse Manager and other staff for smooth unit operations.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing as needed.
