Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN for a per diem role in the 22-bed Neuroscience ICU. The NSICU offers a multidisciplinary team approach with skilled surgeons and nurses dedicated to compassionate, high‑quality neuro care, including stroke and neurotrauma patients.

The ideal candidate holds NC RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. This on-site, rotating schedule position does not include employer benefits and requires

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina and BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of relevant and current experience required.

Responsibilities

• Education: Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs; attends education programs; uses patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care: Identifies expected patient outcomes; participates in interdisciplinary discussions; communicates information for continuity of care.
• Implementation: Provides care for patients with complex problems; performs bedside testing as required; follows policies and prioritizes care.
• Leadership: Develops goals with supervision; promotes interdisciplinary collaboration; supports cost-effective care and safe environment.
• Patient Assessment: Recognizes priorities for care; assesses discharge needs and family support; plans with patient/family.
