Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical ICU (MICU) to provide high-quality, clinically competent nursing care during night shifts. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for acutely ill patients, coordinating with physicians and the health team to optimize outcomes.

The role requires a BSN or progress toward one, IL RN licensure, BLS, and strong collaboration and analytical skills. ADN holders pursuing BSN within three years are considered.

Qualifications

• BSN required or willingness to obtain BSN within 3 years.
• IL RN license in good standing required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Analytical abilities and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, and develops an individualized plan of care.
• Directs care and coordinates with any nursing assistants involved in patient care.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and staff to create and document an outcomes-focused care plan.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Uses evidence to guide practice decisions.
