McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC seeks a Neuro Endovascular Physician Assistant to join its neurology and stroke teams. You will work under a physician, provide evaluations, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions within your scope of practice.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in Advanced Practice, possess SC PA licensure and BLS, and demonstrate excellent communication and independent working abilities as part of the Neuroservices program.

Responsabilidades

• Performs comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical examinations, and diagnostic workups.
• Provides diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice.
• Orders and interprets laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribes medications and therapies in compliance with state regulations.
• Develops and implements treatment plans, including patient education and follow up care.
• Coordinates care with specialists and other healthcare team members.
• Maintains EMR documentation accurately and timely.
• Participates in site-specific Neuroservices conferences and CME requirements.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

Must possess a valid SC license – Physician Assistant (PA) by approved accrediting agency and maintain McLeod Privileges.

BLS certification

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations:

• Job responsibilities include those listed in competencies documents.
• Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Functions as a part of the multidisciplinary Neuroservices team for provision of care to the Neurology, Stroke, Neurosurgical and Thrombectomy patients.
• As needed, provides education to patients and family members about specific disease processes.
• Serves as liaison between patients and clinical care providers, facilitating communication and coordination of care as needed.
• Participates in site specific Neuroservices conferences.
• Promotes the profession of Neuroservices Physician Assistance through patient in quality improvement initiatives within the Neuroservices program.
• Maintains working knowledge of current therapies and treatment details for the specific disease for the Neuroservices population served. Demonstrates competency in, but not limited to the following (refer to McLeod Health Competency Checklist):

• Develops and maintains professional relationships with physicians/care providers and other professional colleagues.
• Is knowledgeable of and adheres to DNV Stroke accreditation standards.
• Participate in Neuroservices Committees as requested.
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner at all community events.
• Work under an approved supervisory agreement with a South Carolina licensed physician, maintaining appropriate documentation as required by state law.
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical examinations, and diagnostic workups.
• Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, injections, and other tasks consistent with training and credentialing.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in compliance with South Carolina prescribing regulations.
• Formulate and implement treatment plans, including patient education and follow up care.
• Assist in coordinating care with specialists, ancillary services, and the broader healthcare team.
• Completes annual training and annual educational requirements timely.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and professional practice standards.
• Maintain required continuing medical education (CME) and stay current with South Carolina licensure requirements.
• Performs other tasks, duties or responsibilities as assigned or needed for the effective, safe and efficient functioning operation of the hospital.
