Job summary

Arbor Neuroscience in San Francisco, a nonprofit research organization, seeks a data-centric scientist to analyze longitudinal experimental data from human and animal studies. Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent training in a quantitative field is required.
• Deep expertise in signal processing, statistics, ML, or imaging analysis is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to produce independent, high-quality work and to code rigorously.

Responsibilities

• Own analysis of Arbor's experimental data, including functional ultrasound imaging and electrophysiology, and the tooling that supports it.
• Collaborate with the experimental team from study design through interpretation to answer top-priority questions.
• Develop image processing tools: registration, alignment, artifact handling, and data-specific needs.
• Help design algorithms for intervention optimization and adaptive experiment design.
• Develop online and real-time analysis methods to support closed-loop experiments.
• Build methods for integrating data across modalities and scales.
• Contribute to high-level scientific decisions about the organization's direction.
