Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Neuro Critical Care team. You will assess and manage critically ill neuro patients, develop evidence-based plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced ICU setting.

The role supports night shift coverage (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with weekend availability preferred and a minimum commitment of two shifts per month to maintain PRN status.

Qualifications

• Active RN and APRN license in state(s) of practice
• APRN- or PA-specific credentials and national board certification
• DEA registration prior to hire
• IL Controlled Substances license prior to hire (if Illinois practice)
• BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and daily management of critically ill neuro patients
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
• Participate in admissions, consultations, and multidisciplinary rounds
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic testing and treatment plans
• Perform bedside procedures consistent with training and credentialing
• Collaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, therapists, and consulting services
• Provide timely communication to patients and families regarding care plans and clinical status
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
