Job summary
Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Neuro Critical Care team. The role provides care for high-acuity patients within a nationally recognized stroke and neuroscience program, collaborating with neurointensivists, APPs, nurses and multidisciplinary specialists.
Night shifts 7:00 PM-7:00 AM with weekend availability preferred and a minimum commitment of two shifts per month to maintain
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Acute Care NP certification is required
- Current Illinois NP licensure or eligibility
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification required
- Current Illinois PA licensure or eligibility
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and daily management of critically ill neuro patients
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Participate in admissions, consultations, and multidisciplinary rounds
- Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic testing and treatment plans
- Perform bedside procedures consistent with training and credentialing
- Collaborate with attending physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, therapists, and consulting services
- Provide timely communication to patients and families regarding care plans and clinical status
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
