Job summary

Stanford University, within the Department of Ophthalmology and collaborating institutes, is launching an interdisciplinary Neuro-AI project building a brain foundation model. We seek software developers to scale systems, ensure reproducibility, and implement CI/CD across teams.

You will contribute to production-ready code and maintain high software quality in a fast-paced, collaborative academic environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining production-grade codebases.
  • Proficiency in Python and system-level languages (C/C++, Rust).
  • Experience with Git and GitHub for collaborative development.
  • Experience setting up CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Strong knowledge of test-driven development and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Slurm; containerization/orchestration experience.
  • Experience with open-source software contributions.
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Responsibilities

  • Assess user needs and requirements.
  • Design and develop data-manipulation applications.
  • Maintain and update existing programs.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Create programs for reporting and analysis needs.
  • Design and implement training programs for users and operators.
  • Document changes for end users and maintainers.
  • Adhere to team software development methodology.
  • Serve as a technical resource for applications.
