Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is seeking a research scientist to design, fabricate, and characterize neural interfaces for multimodal recording and stimulation of the nervous system. You will oversee experimental design and conduct in vivo electrophysiology in rodents, contributing to impactful publications.

The role may be part-time or full-time depending on availability, with benefits and collaborative opportunities across CMU and partner institutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-modal neural interface design.
  • Experience with ultrasound imaging system design and operation.
  • Experience with electrophysiology instrumentation and neural recording/stimulation.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and lead independent research goals within scope of projects.
  • Contributor in developing and documenting research findings and collaborator in writing scientific papers
  • Acts as team leader, providing project management direction
  • Lead research efforts within main goals of project and help coordinate interactions with other team members and universities.
  • Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and participating in meetings/committees.
  • Other duties as assigned
