Job summary

NS4 Inc. is seeking a VoIP Network Technician to install VoIP phones across the organization’s network, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

The role involves migrating analog phones to VoIP and identifying lines to shift, with responsibilities spanning tracing lines, resolving connectivity issues, and implementing improvements aligned with the new VoIP infrastructure. This position supports operations across US Air Force Academy sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with LAN/WAN, VoIP deployments and network troubleshooting.
• Ability to maintain network documentation and accuracy.
• Experience passing security background checks for access to secure facilities.

Responsibilities

• Install VoIP phones and ensure network performance reliability.
• Troubleshoot connectivity problems and hardware failures.
• Maintain and document deployed VoIP phone inventory (CAIRS).

Job description

The Network, VoIP install is responsible for installing VoIP phones within the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role supports the deployment of VoIP phones, shifting Analog phones to VoIP phones. Requirements are to identify Analog phones to shift to VoIP phone system, tracing phone lines, resolving connectivity issues, and implementing improvements that align with new VoIP infrastructure. The position is essential for maintaining reliable communication across the US Air Force Academy sites.

Key Responsibilities

Introducing phones and ensuring network performance reliability

Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems, and hardware failures

Maintain network documentation of deployed VoIP phones (confirm via CAIRS tool)

Required Qualifications

Understanding of LAN/WAN, VoIP environment and routing protocols

Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues

Strong communication and documentation skills

Ability to pass security background check to access military facility

Education & Experience

Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Understanding of VoIP communications

Cisco: CCNA, Certified Network Professional Enterprise, Certified Network Professional Security
