Job summary

U.S. District Court, Central District of California, is seeking a Network Systems Administrator to oversee and evolve the court's network and server infrastructure.

You will design LAN/WAN/VLANs, manage security, implement VPNs, and maintain virtualization ecosystems, while coordinating with IT staff and other agencies. The role requires deep expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and network hardware, with a focus on reliability, security, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Five years of specialized IT experience including network/server design and support.
  • Master's degree or two years of graduate study in CS or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN/VLANs and related hardware.
  • Manage network security, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless protection systems.
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory on Windows servers and user access.
  • Maintain and document network infrastructure standards and procedures.
  • Support and secure virtualized environments (Nutanix AHV, vSphere, Hyper-V).
  • Plan upgrades, patches, and capacity planning; provide end-user training.
  • Collaborate with IT and external agencies on new network programs.
