Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking a Network Administrator to install, configure, and support internal and external network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, servers, storage, voice/data circuits, and VPN, onsite in Bloomington, MN.

Responsibilities include maintaining network documentation, monitoring performance, and providing end-user support, with opportunities to engage in complex projects and new technology adoption.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent technical training required; 4-year degree preferred.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and deliverables in projects.
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products using documentation and online resources.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with network protocols in an enterprise environment.
• Basic knowledge of IP Telephony and Cisco Call Manager.
• Basic knowledge with Cisco network equipment, VMware, Windows Server, LAN/WAN, and wireless networks.
• Basic level experience with network security, firewalls, and authentication protocols.
• May be required to be available off-hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation related to network functions and maintenance records.
• Monitor performance and availability of networks, servers, and other infrastructure equipment.
• Administrator for all network and server equipment.
• Monitor network and server health and performance.
• Respond to intermediate level tickets and resolve issues promptly.
• Research new technology and implement or recommend it.
• Collaborate with team, superiors, and other departments.
• Provide support for internal customers via phone, email, or in person.
• Configure, install, and support routers, switches, server OS, communication lines, and internet services.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or network problems; replace defective components.
• Manage assigned projects and program components to meet objectives.
• Assist in implementation of complex projects.
