Job Description:

Network Systems Administrator

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for the Digital Range Training System (DRTS) 3.3 Network Systems Administrator role in support of the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution (W-TRS) Contract, formerly known as ATMP.

The DRTS program modernizes ranges for tactical vehicle training, providing infrastructure and instrumentation for Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, and Aviation platform live-fire gunnery training, including Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises (CALFEX).

The Network Systems Administrator will report to the Range Manager and will be responsible for all employees, tools, inventories, maintenance, and the overall product delivered to the government.

How a Network Systems Administrator Makes an Impact:
  • Reports directly to the Range Manager and ensures all servers, workstations, and IT assets are operational.
  • Serves as the SME for all DRTS IT operational support.
  • Manage network servers, set up accounts and workstations, monitor system performance, and maintain systems according to requirements.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and outages, ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
  • Upgrade systems, develop expertise for staff training on new technologies, and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and policies.
  • Conduct inspections and inventories of IT equipment before and after live fire-training events for accountability and serviceability.
  • Coordinate with the Range Manager on range maintenance, training events, and VIP visits.
  • Report procurement of supplies, equipment, and parts weekly.
  • Ensure proper training, record-keeping, and maintenance of IT equipment, including Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).
  • Support cross-training for other W-TRS TADSS on installation.
  • Interface with customers and government personnel, report on TADSS status, maintenance issues, and assist with training schedules.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Education: BA/BS or 4 years equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of related experience managing US Army DRTS IT equipment/ranges; military and leadership experience preferred.
  • Technical expertise in range systems, equipment, maintenance, network protocols, operating systems, and security practices.
  • Knowledge of US army doctrine for live-fire gunnery training, qualifications, and AAR capabilities.
  • Ability to learn the W-TRS Management Information System (MIS).
  • Certifications: IAW DoD Pub 8570.01-M, at least one of the following within 6 months of hire: CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Cisco CCNA.
  • Security Clearance: None required.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to advise leadership, document technical issues, and resolve complex problems.
  • Travel up to 25% required.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to wear PPE and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Additional Details:

Location: On Customer Site

Salary Range: $59,500 - $80,500 (dependent on experience, location, and contractual factors)
