Summary

Responsible for the daily administration of a network and server environment. Installs, configures, and maintains system software. Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues, and deploys solutions. Documents network issues and events using standard formats. Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment installation. Uses scripting and writes basic programs to automate processes. Maintains and follows disaster recovery, security, backup, and restore plans. May evaluate new tools or equipment and perform analysis/feasibility studies to guide decisions on optimizing network performance.

Summary

Important Personal Skills

  • Experience with network management tools and monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Speak, write, and read in fluent English, hear, and have good vision
  • High school diploma/ GED required

Job Tasks

  • Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting to resolve problems promptly.
  • Configuration and Deployment: Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software, including access points, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, comfortable working in manlift.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, anti-virus software, and intrusion detection systems to protect against cyber threats.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to users, addressing network-related issues and assisting with connectivity problems.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze network performance and implement enhancements to optimize speed, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Backup and Recovery: Ensure data backup processes are in place and regularly tested for disaster recovery.
  • Compliance: Ensure network operations comply with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Assist in resolving various tickets at all service levels, escalating if/when needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software.
  • HPE, Cisco, Meraki switches
  • Fortinet Firewalls
  • VMware
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
