Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Infrastructure Engineering Manager, this position supports the ITS-Infrastructure Engineering group and their interface with other campus systems and services. It provides network infrastructure and systems analysis, modification, maintenance, installation, and design, interfacing with internal ITS staff and the user community. The role involves designing and supporting enterprise-level routers, switches, firewalls, access points, wireless controllers, and related infrastructure. Additionally, it maintains and supports assigned systems to ensure system availability, integrity, and reliability.

Our team of over 170 professionals works in a DevOps environment, focusing on continuous improvement, innovation, and supporting the university’s strategic goals.

Key Qualifications

• Knowledge of enterprise-level network infrastructure and services such as DNS/DHCP/IPAM (DDI), routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and Wi-Fi.
• Thorough understanding of current network routing protocols (e.g., ARP, IP, IPSEC, TCP/UDP, HTTP, OSPF, BGP).
• Experience configuring network infrastructure in cloud environments (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network) and private cloud environments (e.g., VMWare).
• Ability to install and design network configuration management and monitoring tools in large-scale enterprise DevOps environments (e.g., Aruba Central, Cisco Prime, Palo Alto Panorama, Infoblox).
• Experience leading and planning upgrades to network infrastructure and configurations to improve service delivery and efficiency.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience.
• Additional qualifying experience may substitute for up to two years of education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $95,000 - $115,000 per year
Classification Range: $61,896 - $152,760 per year

Factors influencing compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, education, certifications, and organizational needs. The hiring range reflects the budgeted salary, while the classification range considers internal equity and bargaining agreements.
