Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Network Technician in Abilene, TX to install and decommission networks, manage CCTV and security systems, and support IT tasks across facilities. The role requires climbing, working at heights, and lifting up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities include cabling (CAT5/6 and fiber), testing, installing components, and coordinating with IT teams. Some travel and certification readiness are expected; forklift training may be provided by MEI.

Qualifications

Associate degree in computer-related technology; 2 years' experience may substitute.
Experience installing, testing and repairing CAT5/6 or fiber optic cable.
Working knowledge of basic network architecture, including firewalls, switches, and access points.
1 year experience with CCTV systems, NVRs, cameras, and installation; Eagle Eye preferred.
Knowledge of VLANs and wireless technology.
1 year experience with access control systems – Kantech and Brivo desired.
Basic understanding of security systems – Keypass knowledge preferred.
Able to operate a scissor/boom lift and pursue forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Install, test, or repair CAT5/6 and fiber optic cable and network systems.
Perform network maintenance as requested and necessary.
Forklift and scissor/boom lift certification preferred, or willingness to acquire within first year.
Test electrical circuits or components.
Assemble/install electrical components, CCTV systems, cameras, and security systems.
Perform site surveys and review scope of work to determine necessary tools and materials.
Install programs onto computer equipment.
Coordinate with Help Desk and IT Teams on tickets and projects while traveling.
