Job summary

Batteries Plus in Hartland, WI is seeking an IT Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain firewall and network infrastructure while strengthening cybersecurity. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in IT or Cybersecurity and 3+ years of systems administration with PowerShell scripting, plus SASE/NG Firewall experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Cybersecurity or related field.
• 3+ years as Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux preferred).
• 3+ years scripting experience (PowerShell preferred).
• SASE and NG Firewall experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and application-level security.
• Experience with automation and management tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes for Change and Incident Management.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical projects in a security-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewall systems in line with industry standards.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot firewall health and traffic flow.
• Support IT teams with firewall changes and modifications.
• Manage relationships with security vendors, MSPs, and consultants.
• Document firewall solutions and provide training to IT staff.
• Ensure firewall policies comply with security standards.
• Maintain the network including BGP routing.
• Lead Security Incident Response (SIR) efforts and post-incident reviews.
• Coordinate post-mortem action items and reporting on security needs.
